Motorsport Vehicle Recovery

When competition cars crash or break down, a safe and speedy recovery is the key to keeping an event running smoothly without risk of injury to drivers or officials, or damage to the cars.

A film entitled “Motorsport Vehicle Recovery” has been launched by the Fund and is designed to help in this important area. It takes an in-depth look at all aspects of motorsport recovery and is split into sections that viewers can select according to the part they play – be they drivers, marshals or recovery operators.

All types of racing cars are covered from single-seaters to sports and production cars; as are the different types of recovery vehicles, including snatch vehicles used to move cars while racing continues.

Also included on the DVD is a section from another of the Fund’s films, “Motorsport Rescue” which specifically covers recovering rally cars.

Running time: 40 minutes.

Motorsport First Aid

This film incorporates recent recommendations by the European Resuscitation Council. In two parts, the first offers a broad look at the subject while the second goes into detail on such things as removing helmets and HANS devices as well as on how to right a rolled car without injuring the driver/s. Running time 38 minutes 53 seconds.

Motorsport Marshalling

A comprehensive guide to marshalling. Contents include: equipment, handling spectators and marshalling at races, rallies and other events. Running time 25 minutes.

It Could Happen to You!

Advice on personal preparation and equipment to help newcomers take up the sport in safety. Running time 11 mins 44 secs.

Motorsport Rescue

A guide to equipment and how to use it to extricate drivers from crashed cars and how to work with medical personnel while doing so. Running time 29 mins 25 secs.

Motorsport Firefighting

This covers the various fires encountered in motorsport and how to choose and use the right equipment to fight them. Running time 16 mins 15 secs.

Total running of time of this DVD is 2 hours 8 minutes.
